Yucaipa High School Diver Captures Two Competitive Diving Awards

By on November 15, 2019

Yucaipa High School (YHS) sophomore Camille Kilian is a busy young lady. Last weekend she placed first and second in the Girls 14-18 Novice 3 Meter and 1 Meter Diving competitions at the 2019 Glenn McCormick Memorial Diving Invitational in Palm Desert. Although she has been diving for only two years, she trains daily with a team of 25 other boys and girls as a member of the Riverside Elite Diving Team.

Camille was previously a gymnast for eight years which, no doubt, kept her in shape for her current pursuits in competitive diving. She now trains with the Inland Empire’s only club diving program based out of the Riverside Aquatics Complex located at Riverside City College. The team is by former professional diver and interim University of Redlands Diving Coach Jimmy Adams.

When she’s not in pool training Camille is pursuing her studies at YHS in the Health & Biomedical Science Academy in preparation to study medicine.  Additionally, she volunteers at the Loma Linda VA Hospital.

Congratulations, Camille, on your two recent “wins” at the 2019 Glenn McCormick Memorial Diving Invitational.
