“Take Me Out to the Ballgame…” – Signups Underway for Yucaipa’s 2020 Spring Little Leagues
Do you miss the crack of the bat, the roar from the stands and watching your youngster grow and refine his/her skills on the baseball fields? Worry not – spring registration is now underway for both the Yucaipa Valley American Little League (YVALL)and its cross-town rival, the Yucaipa Valley National Little League (YVNLL). So, months before Cody Bellinger or Mike Trout step into the professionals’ batters’ box for the start of the 2020 season, the two Yucaipa Little Leagues are hoping you’ll soon signup your children to play America’s favorite pastime.
Both of Yucaipa’s leagues are offering online registration as well as in person applications. YVALL’s registration opened Dec. 1 and will continue until Jan. 6. In person registration is still available on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m. at Bryant Glen Ballfields at 34875 Tahoe Dr. in Yucaipa. YVNLL’s registration includes two more in person signups – Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 11950 13th St. in Yucaipa.
Online registration for the leagues is as follows:
- YVALL https://www.yvall.org/Default.aspx?tabid=581693
- YVNLL https://yvnll.sportngin.com/register/form/770024557
Both leagues adhere to very strict registration requirements including documentation (birth certificate and three proofs of residency), payment fees, and age requirements for specific divisions. The above online registration websites provide details for these requirements. Parents will also be required to complete and sign emergency contact/medical information forms and a HEADS UP concussion waiver.
In spite of all the forms and paper work to get your kid(s) enrolled in the Little League system, baseball provides your kids with a great place to introduce them to team sports and the love of a competitive game. It potentially will keep them active and engaged in a physically activity for years to come.
