215 Football All-Star Classic added to Annual Inland Valley Hall of Fame Football Classic
New and updated information has been released by the staff of the 2nd Annual Inland Valley Hall of Fame Football Classic including the addition of a new football all-star classic game.
According to Brian S. Arrington, president of IE Sports Net, this year’s event will be played as a double header with the addition of the 215 Football All-star Classic. This game will feature players from both San Bernardino County and Riverside County that participate in “small school” and/or 8-man high school football.
Included in the year’s 2nd Annual Inland Valley Hall of Fame Football Classic will be the honorees for the initial year of the Inland Valley Sports Hall of Fame. The honorees have just been announced and they include: high school football coaching icon, Dick Bruich of San Bernardino High School; USC football legend Shelton Diggs (reportedly considered by many to be the best high school football player in San Bernardino County history); and local legendary reporter Louis Brewster of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin who has over 40 years of covering local sports.
Yucaipa High School’s Coach Justin Price will be serving as the coach for Eastern San Bernardino County All-Stars for the Hall of Fame Football Classic. He will be joined by five Yucaipa High School players including: Nathan Martinez, quarterback; Cade Gorrell, running back; Paul Bakenhus, offensive lineman; Frank Lemos, offensive lineman; and, Joseph Simmons, defensive lineman.
New times for the activities of football classic has also been announced. The 215 Football All-star Classic will begin at 4 p.m.; the 2nd Annual Inland Valley Hall of Fame Football Classic will begin at 6 p.m. The Hall of Fame ceremonies will take place during half time of the Inland Valley Classic.
The 2nd Annual Inland Valley Hall of Fame Football Classic and related events will be held on Sunday, January 29 at AB Miller High School at 6821 Oleander Ave, Fontana. Admission fees to the doubleheader are: $10—General Admission; $7—Kids (12 & under) & Students (must present ASB card).
