Yucaipa’s Senator Mike Morrell and others host “Digital You Workshop” for Seniors
Senator Mike Morrell, Assemblyman Marc Steinorth and AT&T are inviting all area seniors to a hands-on “Digital You Workshop” to help seniors make the most of tablets and smartphones. The two-hour workshop will be held Friday, July 22 for 1 to 3 p.m.
Attendees will learn how to access state and legislative resources, send email, make video calls, take and share photos, download apps, recognize scams, keep private information secure and more.
Imagine being able to make video calls so you can see your out-of-area grandchildren when you call them. Consider the opportunity to send emails to a long-time friend who is hard of hearing (which makes phone calls difficult.) What fun you can have being able to send and receive photos with your friends and family. And being able to contact your legislators when problems arise with your veteran’s benefits, your Social Security auto deposit or you simply want to quickly and efficiently communicate your opinion, support or frustration with an upcoming legislative vote. Smartphones and tablets offer all of these options – if you know how to effectively use them.
This upcoming event will be held at the Highland Senior Center at 3102 East Highland Avenue in Highland. Space is limited. For questions, additional information or to RSVP with the District Office please call (909) 919-7731.
