Sen. Morrell Partners with CA Highway Patrol for “Age Well-Drive Smart” Classes for Seniors

By on June 3, 2019

State Senator Mike Morrell (R- 23rd District-Rancho Cucamonga) has partnered with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to make a safe driving and a refresher course on the subject available for seniors within the 23rd District. This free, two-hour course is designed primarily for drivers age 65 and older.

The two-hour class includes instruction on driving safety, basic road courtesy, information on the impact visual or hearing impairments have on driving ability, tips on avoiding or offsetting hazardous road conditions and improving driving performance. Participants will also receive an update on changes the legislature has made to rules of the road and vehicle equipment.

In addition to providing seniors with a refresher course on driving safety and new rules, some insurance companies offer discounted premiums with a certificate of course completion. However, not all insurance companies offer this discount. It will be necessary to contact your individual car insurance provider to confirm whether this program meets your insurance company’s criteria for a policy discount.

Additionally, any information, materials, or services provided at this event are the sole responsibility of the provider of the information, materials, or services and do not constitute services or medical advice from the California State Senate.
