City to Hold Community Meeting on Measure E Wednesday, Feb. 19
In an ongoing effort to educate the residents about Measure E, the City of Yucaipa will hold a community meeting about the ballot measure on Wednesday, February 19 at 6:00 pm.
City Manager Ray Casey, Police Captain Williams and Fire Chief Malinowski will be on hand to answer questions from attendees.
Already a hot topic in online forums, Measure E is a General Transactions and Use Tax that the Yucaipa City Council voted unanimously last November to place on the ballot in the March primary election. If approved by the voters, the city of Yucaipa would adopt a new “Sales Tax Ordinance” whereby the city’s existing sales tax rate would increase by 0.5 percent, or one half of one cent, on every dollar of taxable sales of goods in the city, and on the taxable storage, use or consumption of goods purchased in the city.
The informational meeting will be held at the Yucaipa Community Center at 34900 Oak Glen Road. For more information or have questions, please call (909) 797-2489 ext. 223.
