YCJUSD Online Applications for 2018-19 Free and Reduced-Price School Meals Begins July 5
Parents looking to apply for free and reduced-price school meals through the Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified School District (YCJUSD) for the 2018-19 school year can begin the application process beginning Thursday, July 5 at 12 p.m. Forms will be available then in both English and Spanish.
Free and reduced-price meals are available to families who believe they may qualify. If your family chooses to apply please you will need to complete a “Free and Reduced Meal Price Application Form.” Although you can complete the forms online, forms can also be obtained and returned, when completed, to any school office.
Families will be notified by mail of your child’s qualification status. Until you are notified of your child’s status you must provide your child with a lunch or lunch money once school starts.
Families should complete only one application per family/household. The information you provide will be used to determine or prove your child’s/children’s eligibility for free or reduced-priced meals. This information may also be used for other state or federally funded school benefits.
Factors considered in the application process are household size and total household income. Household Size is considered all persons, related or unrelated, living in the home including parents, children, grandparents who live in your home and who share living expenses.
The Total Household Income is the income each household member received last month before taxes including wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony, and any other cash income.
If foster children reside in your home they are eligible for free meals regardless of your income. If you have foster children living with you, please review the letter to households for specific instructions.
