Registration Open for S.T.A.R.S. Before-and-After School Program
Registration for the S.T.A.R.S. before-and-after school program is now open. S.T.A.R.S. — Science, Technology, Arts, Recreation for Success – is the before-and-after school program that combines fun, education and enrichment for success for children from kindergarten through eighth grades.
To meet educational needs during the COVID-19 pandemic, the S.T.A.R.S. Extended Services is designed to provide academic support, such as tutoring, STEAM activities, and technology, including wi-fi access. The S.T.A.R.S. Before and After School Program is not in lieu of attending an academic institution and is not supervised by certificated teachers.
Ordinarily, the program operates on school campus, each school day during the academic year. However, this year the program will be at the Yucaipa Community Center. The program will be open from 7:00 am to 5:00, Monday – Friday. The weekly rate for Yucaipa residents is $135 and non-resident is $175.50.
Participants will be required to wear a face mask and bring their own lunch and snacks.
The parent packet and enrollment forms are available online at: http://yucaipa.org/recreation/stars-2/.
Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the Yucaipa Community Center (34900 Oak Glen Road) or online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/yucaipa/Home. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Margo Mullen, Community Services Coordinator, at 909-500-7734.
