“On My Honor I Will Try to…” — San Gorgonio Girl Scout to Hold Information Meeting on Sept. 19
As the song goes, “Make New Friends but Keep the Old…” Do you remember learning this friendship song in Girl Scouts? Or perhaps your Girl Scout memories are of learning to roll up a sleeping bag or the tent that collapsed on you in the middle of the night. Or maybe you have no memories because you never had a chance for scouts but wished you’d had that opportunity.
Whatever are your memories – or not – the chance for Girl Scouts is now available for Yucaipa’s girls! If your daughter has expressed even the slightest bit of interest in joining Girl Scouts, mark your calendar for a Girl Scout Information Meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Yucaipa (Scherer) Community Senior Center at 12202 1st St. in Yucaipa.
A non-profit agency that was founded in 1912, Girl Scouts has continuously provided girls the opportunity to grow and develop new interests, passions, friends and capabilities. Whether its designing board games and robots, planning a community service project, singing Christmas carols at a senior center, assisting at a food bank or, best of all, selling yummy Girl Scouts cookies, Girl Scouts encourages young women in-the-making to try new things, learn a deeper understanding and caring for others as well as compassion, accountability and the value of each person.
If this sounds like just the thing for your daughter(s) you can join today online at: www.gssgc.org/join. Or call; 800-400-GIRL (4475). Also, you can text – JOIN to 59618. For questions or additional information call Vicki Broadhead, recruitment specialist at: 909-307-6555, ext. 3021 or email her at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
