The Board of Trustees and Chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD), along with the Board of Directors of the Crafton Hills College (CHC) Foundation will host the investiture of the CHC’s ninth president, Dr. Kevin Horan, on Friday, Feb. 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the college’s Finkelstein Performing Arts Center. Dr. Horan will receive the President’s Medallion in a ceremony which is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. A reception will immediately follow Dr. Horan’s investiture at the Crafton Center.

Dr. Horan is assuming the leadership of 6,000 student CHC from Interim President Dr. Audre Levy. Dr. Levy has served in the interim role since Aug. 10. She assumed her position following the departure of CHC’s eight president, Dr. Wei Zhou. In March, SBCCD officials announced administrative changes to its leadership.

Dr. Horan most recently served as vice president of instruction and student services of Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, Calif., one of the three colleges comprising the Contra Costa Community College District. He was selected for his new position at CHC from among more than 50 prospective candidates.

Before joining the CCCCD in 2006, Horan served as the director of campus affairs at California State University East Bay’s Concord Campus, director of student affairs at Samuel Merritt University (Oakland), and director of residence life/auxiliary services at Holy Names University (Oakland).

The investiture and reception are free and complimentary parking will be available at the CHC campus at 11711 Sand Canyon Road in Yucaipa. RSVPs to the event are requested by January 28, 2019; registration for the event can be made at:
