Blood drive hosted at Yucaipa city hall on July 6

The City of Yucaipa and the Yucaipa Rotary Club will once again team up to host a blood drive on Wednesday, July 1 at City Hall in the parking lot from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

COVID-19 Antibody Testing is now available with each donor’s successful blood donation. All successful donations will be tested for antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Results are reported, per state law, to the California Department of Public Health. Donors can view results in their online donor account 2 weeks after donation.

LifeStream is taking steps to ensure the safety of all potential donors by incorporating prescreening processes, including temperature checks on donors before they come in, social distancing standards, and encouraging only healthy people to give blood.

For teenagers – ages 15 and 16 – who wish to donate, a parental consent form must be completed by a parent or legal guardian prior to donating. The Lifestream parental consent form for teens must be completed by their parents/guardians and brought to the donation site on the day of the blood drive. A copy of the form can be downloaded at

All prospective donors should drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. All donors must bring photo identification with them. LifeStream encourages blood donors to eat foods rich in iron and vitamin C, such as green fruits and citrus fruits, to boost your body’s strength prior to donating blood. Also, a healthy salty snack, such as a few pretzels, can help make your next blood donation a positive experience. Lastly, don’t skip meals or add meals prior to donating.

All donors are welcome, including walk-ins, but appointments are encouraged and receive priority.  To schedule an appointment to donate call: 800-879-4484.
