Sherlock Holmes and the Singing Specter of Blagcross Castle at Riley’s Farm
Calling all Sherlock Homes fans! The Riley’s Farm Sherlock Holmes Mystery Dinner returns with an all new, original story – and fine meal – with “Sherlock Holmes and the Singing Specter of Blagcross Castle.” You won’t want to miss the Riley’s Farm Theatre Company’s 8th annual, original Murder Mystery Dinner!
Imagine a ghostly melody sleeking out from the bog-ridden moors of Dartmoor, a poor soul overtaken with brain fever after prolonged exposure to arsenic poisoning along with a devilish plot to eradicate an entire family line from England’s history. All this and more await Arthur Conan Doyle’s immortal character, Sherlock Holmes and his colleague, Dr. Watson in “Sherlock Holmes and the Singing Specter of Blagcross Castle.” For those wanting a bit more information and background on the case prior to the dinner theatre performance, check out Arthur Conan Doyle’s ‘The Hound of Baskervilles.’
Performances are slated for Saturday evenings in March as follows: March 3, 10 and 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Performances on Saturday, March 17 will include a matinee beginning at 11 a.m. and an evening show starting at 6 p.m. Two Friday evening performance will be staged on March 16 and 23 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The sumptuous meal awaiting attendees will include an English-themed dinner with tea and scones with clotted cream for an appetizer. Dinner will feature a spring salad, beef and ale pot pie, chicken puff pastry parcels, roasted asparagus and ginger honey carrots. Dessert will be English trifle.
The Saturday evening performances’ itinerary will be a 5:30 p.m. check-in at the Packing Shed General Store where you will enjoy appetizers and an opportunity to meet the show’s characters. Act I begins at 6:30 p.m.; dinner service and clues for the evening’s show are at 7 p.m.; at 7:30 p.m. Act II begins; at 8:00 p.m. is dessert and your final clues. At 8:25 Act III and the evening’s culmination begins.
