SBC Regional Parks Announces the 2020 Junior Fishing Workshops Dates
Although March 2020 is still three-plus away, the San Bernardino County (SBC) Regional Parks has just announced their lineup of Junior Fishing Workshops and the Yucaipa Regional Park will host its Junior Fishing Workshop for youth ages 7 to 15 years old on Saturday, March 7. This is an excellent opportunity for beginning fisher-people to learn the sport.
Participants begin the day by moving through stations lead by volunteer fishing specialists to learn the basic fundamentals of lake shore fishing including knot tying, casting, cleaning, cooking and more. Immediately following the educational stations participants can choose to partake in a two-hour open fishing session where all tackle and equipment is provided. No license is needed to participate in this Junior Fishing Workshop.
The San Bernardino County Regional Parks offers both the Junior Fishing Workshops and the Adult Fishing Workshop for those participants 16 years of age or older. In addition to the Junior Fishing Workshop in Yucaipa two other SBC regional parks offer the same workshop for youth — January 25, 2020 at Mojave Narrows Regional Park and March 28, 2020 at Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park. All children and youth must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the fishing workshop.
Junior Fishing Workshops are $10 per child paid in advance of the class. Also, a $10.00 per vehicle fee will be charged at park gate upon arrival (if applicable).
