Old West Days Returns to San Bernardino County Museum

By on January 7, 2020

Back by popular demand, the Old West Days is returning to the San Bernardino County Museum Jan. 18 and 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There’s something for everyone, including demonstrations, re-enactors, and entertainment.  Visitors can also participate in numerous activities, like quilting, leatherworking, rope lassoing, pose for old style photographs in western clothing with a stagecoach backdrop, and try their luck at card games.

The Brennans, a popular bluegrass family band will be returning also with performances on both days throughout the event. Re-enactor Pico Pistolero, certified scoundrel and snake-oil pitchman, will be demonstrating card games, tricks, and scams.

“We can’t wait for history buffs, families, and other visitors to be able to travel back in time and experience the Old West again right here at the San Bernardino County Museum. Our community partners will help us immerse guests in the rambunctious and lively early history of our region with engaging demonstrations and fun activities,” said Jennifer Dickerson, the Museum’s Curator of History in a statement.

The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Old West Days is included with general admission: $10 (adult), $8 (military or senior), $7 (student), and $5 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free.

The SBC Museum is located at 2024 Orange Tree Lane in Redlands. The facility is handicapped assessable. For additional information contact the museum at: http://www.sbcounty.gov/museum/ or call them at: 909-798-8608.
