Details for Yucaipa’s Autumnfest Includes Fun for the Whole Family Including Fido and Rover
Fall has finally arrived and Yucaipa is beginning to enjoy shorter days and cooler temps. That also means that the annual Yucaipa Autumnfest is just around the corner. Dates for this year’s celebration of fall with music, food, family contests and more are Friday, Oct. 11 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 12 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. The 2019 Autumnfest will include a kid’s zone, car show, live music, costume contests, paint nights and merchandise vendors, all in a family-friendly setting.
The event’s Main Stage will feature a variety of free music concerts and several contests. The main stage will be located at the Uptown Park at 12062 California St. On stage will be the following:
Friday, Oct. 11
6:15 p.m. Yucaipa Youth Rockin’ Studio
7:30 p.m. Skynyrd & Frynds
Saturday, Oct. 12
4:00 p.m. Kids Costume Contest
4:30 p.m. Dog Costume Contest
5:00 p.m. Pie Eating Contest
5:30 p.m. Yucaipa Dance
7:30 p.m. Jumping Jack Flash
The Kids Costume Contest is divided into four age categories by years — 0-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. A panel of local judges will rate each costume on creativity, attention to detail, presentation and quality. First, second and third place winners of each age category will win a special prize, but no contestant will go home empty handed!
And Fido and Rover can also get in on the seasonal fun! Much like the Kids Costume Contest the Dog Costume Contest will be divided into three weight categories (1-30 lbs., 31-60 lbs., and 61+ lbs.). A panel of local judges will rate each costume on creativity, attention to detail, presentation and quality.
First place canine winners of each age category will win a special prize.
As with previous Autumnfest celebrations this year’s event will also include a Beer Garden for those aged 21 and above (with ID). The Knights of Columbus Beer Garden will feature various micros, nanos, domestic and imports for your tasting pleasure. A variety of wines will be available as well including Red Blend, Cabernet Sauvignon, Moscato, and Pinot Grigio.
The ever-popular Classic Car Show will return to this year’s Autumnfest as will the equally popular Kids Zone. Also part of Yucaipa’s fall celebration, the Yucaipa Valley Historical Society will provide displays of harvest antiques and bootlegger’s still and equipment at the California St. Roundabout.
And don’t forget to save a few dollars so you and your older kids can participate in the Haunted House. Just $5 gets you an individual ticket to go through the spooky house! The doors will open on Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. However, be forewarned – you will encounter dark hallways, flashing lights, loud sounds, scary scenes, and general gore and ghoulishness. Participants younger than 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
If the Haunted House isn’t your thing maybe you’d prefer to participate in one of the two Paint Nights. This special event will be presented by Vision Quest for $15 per person. The fee includes all paint supplies and a canvas – and a lot of fun! Paint Nights will be held on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. in front of the Vision Quest Art Gallery at 35157 Yucaipa Blvd. Sign-ups will be available on the day of the event or by contacting: www.yucaipavisionquest.com.
