Are You Ready for Summer? The City of Yucaipa’s 7th Street Pool is now Open
School is out and the days are getting longer — and warmer. And the city of Yucaipa has the answer for anyone for complaining of boredom or the hot weather. The city’s 7th Street Pool opened last week and goes into full gear with an extensive slate of lessons, dive-in movies, aqua aerobics classes and recreational swim opportunities. Facility rentals are also available with prior reservations on a first come, first served basis.
Swim lessons are offered by the Yucaipa Swim Team on Mondays through Thursdays at various times at the 7th Street Pool. Classes are organized by age level. Additional information is available at: https://www.teamunify.com/Home.jsp?team=scsyst.
Saturday swim lessons, in conjunction with the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” program, will offered by the city of Yucaipa, from June 23 to July 21. Certified water safety instructors will teach age-appropriate classes for children ages 6 months to 12 years on how to swim and the importance of water safety. Additional information on the city’s swim classes is available at: www.yucaipa.org/recreation/aquatics-program/saturday-swim-lessons/.
Recreational swimming at the city’s pool is the perfect way to cool off and enjoy some playful time. on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning now through June 3 and again from August 11 through September 2, the pool will be open from 12 to 4 p.m. From June 7 through August 10 the pool will be open on Mondays through Sundays 12 to 4 p.m. and also on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. On the summer holidays of Independence Day (July 4) and Labor Day (September 3) the pool will be open from 12 to 4 p.m.
If a cardiovascular workout in the pool interests you the Aqua Aerobics classes are for you. Like swimming, aqua aerobics are easy on the body’s joints but still offer a challenging exercise modality to help reach your fitness goals. Beginning June 11, morning classes are available from 8-9 a.m., Mondays through Thursdays; evening classes will be held Monday and Wednesdays from 7 to 8 p.m.
Lastly, if a lazy evening in the pool is more your style, stop by the 7th Street Pool on Thursdays at 7 p.m. from June 7 to August 2 for Dive-in Movies.
The 7th Street Pool is located at 12385 7th St., in Yucaipa. For questions regarding any of the above activities call the city of Yucaipa’s Recreation Department at: 909-790-7460.
